An excessive pressure formed inside an enclosed space in the body causes a condition called Compartment syndrome in a person which causes disturbance in the flow of blood. When an injury causes bleeding or swelling, this condition arises. It results in severe pain, numbness, swelling and tightness. The most common symptoms of this condition are- trauma, burns, pelvic fracture and sepsis (an infection resulting in the inflammation throughout the body). This syndrome is more likely to affect the legs, arms and abdomen of a person. With the use of various therapies and medications, this condition can be improved.
