No, not at all.
Hiv virus becomes damaged and become inactive immediately in dry surface. Once inactive ,hiv is dead and no longer infectious.

Least chance of getting hiv transmission according to history. But get hiv test according to window period.

Most of the time aphthous ulcers are due to infection, decreased immunity, or to local alergy/irritation. As patient is 74 years old, definitely steroids are not an option it will reduce immunity.
Patient can be treated with antibiotics and nsaids and multivitamins (b complex)
