Benefits of yoga for slimming

The latest craze in the fitness industry around the world is yoga. Earlier yoga was presumed to be limited to the saints but thanks to Baba Ramdev the various benefits of yoga are coming to the forefront. For people who want a slim and toned body yoga provides the best natural way to achieve it. People have adopted yoga in their daily fitness routine for getting a slim toned body just like celebrities. There are asanas in yoga that improve both the skeletal and muscular system of the body. The poses in yoga not only burn the fat from the tummy but it also massages the digestive system for stimulating the metabolic rate along with improved digestion. The core muscles also get strengthened through regular practice of yoga. The exercise in yoga help in attaining perfectly shaped buttocks and thighs. There have been studies which indicate positive effects of yoga for getting a perfectly slim body. Given below are some of the asanas of yoga that help in attaining a slim toned body.

Boat Pose

Start by lying on your back with your legs extended in front. Bring your feet together and lift them up at an angle of 45 degree. Now slowly lift your upper body at an angle of 45 degree. Make sure your body resembles a ā€˜V’ position. Keep both your hands parallelly straight at the front and hold the position for 30 seconds. This pose strengthens the core muscles and works very well for your belly fat. It also improves your digestion.

Bridge Pose

Lay on your back, gently bend your knees and life your hips up until your thighs are at parallel to the floor, forming a bridge. It stretches your hips, back, stomach and thigh muscles.

Seated Forward Fold

Start in a seated position with your legs stretched outwards. Without bending your knees, bend forward to reach for the ankle or feet. Hold the position for a while. This pose increases your appetite, improves digestion and helps reduce obesity, thereby making you slim.

Four-Limbed Staff Pose

Lie flat on your stomach with the hands placed on both sides near your torso. Now slowly lift your body up, putting the weight on your hands and legs. Make sure you rest your body weight on your toes and arms. Do not lower your hip. Your body should fall in a straight line. Hold on to this position for 30 seconds before you lower your body and come to the resting position. This is an excellent yoga for strengthening the core muscle and abdomen. It also helps tone your arms and helps lose excess fat.

Corpse Pose

This is one of the simplest yet effective yoga pose which helps relax your muscles, stimulates circulation of blood, and increases metabolism. Lie on your back with your hands and legs spread apart. Close your eyes and relax your mind. The corpse pose also helps cure insomnia, which is a major contributing factor of weight gain.

While losing weight it helps if a person feels fuller for a long time thereby controlling the habit of reaching for snacks. Adding beans to the diet is an excellent way to achieve the goal. Incorporating fruits in the diet can be both healthy and advantageous for losing weight. Fresh fruits can replace the processed food from the diet thereby helping in weight loss. Adding yogurt to the diet stimulates the metabolic rate in the body thus aiding in weight loss.
