Hello lybrate-user. Yes this is normal to have withdrawal symptoms
passive smoking is almost equivalent to active smoking and causes same harm to your lungs as active smoking would do.
But with time withdrawal symptoms will settle
if they donot you can choose to have pharmacological intervention i.e. Medicine for it.

I guess you are suffering from withdrawal symptoms. But dont get back to alcohol on your own even if you are unable to tolerate the symptoms. I would suggest start treatment, in your case Psychotherapy at the earliest. If you need an appointment with me you can email me at to schedule an appointment. Thank you.

I quit smoking 2.5 months back and alcohol 2 months back. I had been a very heavy and daily user of both for many years. For the first month although the cravings were intense I did not have any other major problems. But off late I cannot concentrate on anything and cannot get any sleep either. There are days when I do not do anything at all due to my absolute inability to hold a single thought in my head. I obsessively keep thinking about pointless issues throughout the day. I decided that I needed help and visited a doctor who prescribed a Escitalopram and Lopez 2. Now I'm a guy who hates taking medicines in general and especially drugs like Benzos and scars. I stay in Thane and would like to know if there are doctors who can treat me using a combination of diet, exercise, behavioral therapy, meditation/yoga/mindfulness, tackling fear, or any other intervention. My motivation is extremely high to improve and cure myself, and I can push my mind and body to its limits to achieve this. The problem is doctors are not willing to take that path or give me a chance to do it without drugs.

Hi Thank you for your query.
There are psychological therapy and lifestyle modifications that help people who are suffering from mental health issues. Whether you want to take medication or not is your choice and you have a right to say that you don't want medications. However, I would like a detailed assessment before commenting on whether I will recommend medication for you or not. Please feel free to contact me through Lybrate or online for an appointment.

You are probably suffering from nicotine withdrawal. Take nicotine gums or patches which are sold over the counter. Bupropion is a good medicine for nicotine withdrawal but you need prescription for this. Consult a doctor and get prescription.

This is unlikely due to quitting smoking. Quitting Smoking while can cause mild and vafue withdrawal symptoms insome people, but would not explain the symptoms you are experiencing. We would need to rule out other issues, which can be done after detailed history and consultation.
I suggest you setup a consultation or see a local doctor.
