Surgery for removal of wisdom tooth is nothing to be so scared about. Most commonly the procedure is done under local anaesthesia and should take about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the condition of your tooth. Following the surgery you can expect some pain and swelling which is controlled by use of antibiotics and painkillers. Usually the sutures are removed after 7 days of the surgery. In the meantime there are some food restrictions you need to follow, like eating a soft diet.

Hello. Slight injury to alveolar &/ lingual nerve while giving local anaesthesia may leads to numbness and sensation in lower lip and chin. First of all you have to check is there any alteration in taste perception, as there is a long span of suffering. There are many interventions or treatments available, surgical and nonâsurgical, that may enhance recovery, including improving sensation, supplements such as multivitamins, antioxidants, renerve plus for a month.

There are no side effect as many people tend to say that if you get your teeth removed your eye sight weakens but this are myth. Wisdom teeth normal comes out in same plane as other teeth but they tend to be impacted due the decreased jaw length it's an evolution and lifestyle changes which causes it.

Hello lybrate-user, pain and discomfort after surgical removal of wisdom tooth is a common finding. Normally the pain & swelling start subsiding after 48 hrs. However complete healing may take 7-10 days. Sutures if non-resorbable are removed after 5-7 days. Take soft semi-solid diet for the time being. Take your medicines as prescribed. Take good care of your oral hygiene by regular brushing & rinsing. Hope this helps, get well soon.
