yes he can use supplements but use it after consulting a doctor or nutritionist.....
He can use protein shakes also. its safe and has no side effects. In market many protein powders are avialable. He can take this in milk to build muscles......
High fiber diet is also good.....
Banana shake is also good.....
Eggs, meat , fish , soya food all are good source of protein. Include them in his daily diet.....
These are good for him and are natural......

All those vitamins have been tried in psychotic depression, however very few have worked in isolation and none in the kind of depression you describe. It is always good to get opinion that is very impartial and if you believe that you will find help here, you have. calcijointd3 one sachet or tab once a week for eight weeks followed by same one per month for six months. Vitd3 seasonal fruits

lybrate-user, you will have more options if you separately take antioxidants and Vit C.
Fish oil Omega-3 is a very good anti-oxidant if it has the right amount of EPA and DHA. I would also recommend Curcumin. Vit D3 and B12 also help.

No, Vit D tablets does not cause weight gain.

There may be a difference in the amount of vit. C in different brands but otherwise none. The effervescent tablets that you are referring to just take money for the flavour. Otherwise they all work the same.
And the best supplementation of vit. C is by consuming fresh citrus fruits rather than these tablets.
