A young girl about 24 years has been having persistent discharge everyday 7 days a week. She has been treated with the normal medicines for discharge in allopathy antibiotics, metronidazole, fluconazole pessaries etc. No improvement the discharge is whitish sometime yellowish, itchiness at times, sore vagina. Foul smell nil most times. Am interested in asking her to try ayurveda or unani. Recently suspecting something her blood test indicated herpes simplex the conclusion is herpes induced vaginal discharge does not give a history of sexual contact as per person any suggestions in view of ayurveda unani. Treatment.

Pelvic examination to exclude pelvic inflammatory disease. Usg pelvis to confirm diagnosis. Culture & sensitivity of the discharge to pin point pathogen. Combination antibiotic treatment for 14 days will control the disease.

Hello, I had given a preterm still birth 6 months back at 19wks 5 days. Currently 15 wks 3 dys pregnant. At 13 wks diagnosed with short closed cervix 6 mm at 13 wks. 2 stitches added immediately. And put on progesterone pessary one every night. Currently cervix is 20 mm. I am doing partial bed rest. My doctor has not advised about it. I have now been prescribed to take duphaston. Is it safe to start now? Also should I not do the partial bed rest? Should add anything else or food to my routine?

Yes stay in bed as much as possible. There's no contraindication to taking Duphaston rather it would keep the uterus relaxed. Avoid constipation and treat any vaginal discharge or itching aggressively.

My wife has short cervix now in 28 weeks she was given cervical cerclage in first trimester and pessary at the end of 2nd trimester. In 7 month scan baby is fine but doctor has given dexon injection 6 mg 5 doses in morning and evening she mentioned it is for foetal lungs maturation. She was already given maintane 500 injection to prevent labor pain weekly from 24 weeks to 34 weeks. But now doctor told maintane 500 injection can be stopped by 32 weeks. Does it meaning early labor is planned. Is it possible to carry until full term, could anyone let us know.

Early labour is certainly not planned but in case occurs treatment is given for same.
Only time can say whether she reaches full term or not.

Non married not having any physical intercourse since long suffering from thick cottage cheese white discharge plus itching in clitoral area and labia minora and its recurrent vaginal yeast infection. I tried candid v gel and pessaries and itraconazole tab for 1 week works a lot but when I discontinue to use it again cottage cheese like discharge in my vagina so my question is cn I continue to use this v gel nd how to kill the growth of yeast bacteria. Hi Subhashree. In case you have recurrent infection get your sugar levels checked. Also keep the area clean and dry. Change your underwear as they can cause reinfection

Dr. I am suffering from vaginal yeast infection from 6 months. Itching is intense with rashes in vulva and discharge's consistency keeps changing. Sometimes it become watery sometimes sticky sometimes creamy white and sometimes few thread or curd like thing is present. Vulva is swollen with tiny rashes and discharge contains fishy odour. Tried candid pessaries for a week but it didn't cured fully. Also taken fluconazole 150 mg weekly single tablet for 3 weeks. Still not cured. It happened firstly 3 years ago after unprotected intercourse. And it reoccurred again 6 months ago after intercourse but this time protection was there. Still infection occurred. And is continuing till now. Please suggest some medicine. Age 21, weight 55. 5 kg height 5.5.

You require a vaginal douche with betadine for a week. Then use ichmed ointment locally which contains clobetasole propionate, miconazole nitrate, zinc oxide with neomycin cream. Keep the area dry after urination. This medicine to be used under the supervision of a gynecologist.

I am 25 years old female suffering from hypothyroidism since 2015 and in this year in march 2020 I had been tested tsh it came 2.64 and taking medication of eltroxin 50 mg but my weight gradually increases 87 kg in 5.7 height so in may 2020 I again checked my tsh it came 12. Also having vaginal yeast infection I had completed the cause of fluconazole 14 days and 6 days pessary with combination of clotrimazole clindamycin and tinidazole also having chronic anal fissure. I am taking healthy diets more fibres sits bath also m taking vsl 3 probiotic once daily from 2 days. Now my complain is my vaginal discharge had been reduced but inside it is light red and mild burning and also having frequent urination also anal fissure is also not healing. So pls hlp wat to do next?

You need a thorogh evaluation of your thyroid profile including tpo antibody testing. Weight reduction up to 20 kg to be done. Your vaginal discharge can be systematically treated. For details consult online through lybrate

For past four months I have been experiencing slow menstrual flow , before that I used to have 2-3 days heavy to moderate flow and no more bleeding on 4th day but now it has been 2 days with scanty flow since 4 months. Before 4 months due to vaginal itching and mild white discharge doctor prescribed me candida cl pessary for 3nights and fluconazole 150 mg one tab and secnidazole 2g no itching or discharge after that but since then scanty menstrual flow and earlier I use to pass small clots but now no clots and scanty flow, cycle is regular of 32 days but very less flow for 2 consecutive days and 3rd day like 1 or 2 drops. What it might be? Anything serious? I'm really concerned, never experienced this. Age is 26 , planning for a baby in 1 year, so is it serious? Got my cbc , thyroid and vitamin9n profile done. Tsh level is 8.28 and vitamin d is 3.2 ng/ml all other results are normal.

Good evening. I've been suffered from infection since june 2022. I just started itching one day and then I went home to check my vagina and I saw a white coating around it. It was really itchy so I washed thorough with warm water but it was still itchy. I started using mycoten cream but to no avail. In august, I went to the medical lab for a test and the results showed that I had heavy growth of yeast infection and e.coli. I started treatment immediately with ciproflaxin 500 mg, doxycycline100 mg and mycoten pessaries for 6 days but the itching kept coming back with heavy clumpy discharge. I later used klovinal insert for 12 days and then gentamicin injection for 5 days but it still came back. I went for another test in september and I was told that I had klebsiella and candida. I started treatment again but i'm still itchy with yellowish clumpy discharge and I don't know what to do. Please I need help.

See medication alone will not help. You need to keep urself dry, don't wear moist undergarments, change twice, don't use public toilets and drink 3 to 4 lit of water.

You are likely to be suffering from vaginal fungal infection. You should visit your gynecologist who will prescribe you with vaginal pessary, which will completely cure your itching and discharge. Clingen pessary or imidil-c pessary are examples of such pessary.
