Pan masala has substances that are known to cause cancer of the mouth, throat, lungs and food pipe, as well as Heart disease and dental problems. I would advise you to quit pan masala immediately. Since it contains a stimulant (tobacco), it is hard to quit. You can start chewing sugar free gum to start with. some medications are also available to help reduce the craving once you have quit. It would be the best thing you can do for your health to quit using pan masala.

Benefits of tobacco cessation are many. You reduce your risk for hypertension, cancer, cardio-vascular diseases and other serious chronic diseases substantially, at whatever age you quit your nicotine habit. The earlier you quit, the more you benefit. If you quit before the age of 50, you bring down your risk of dying from smoking-related diseases by 50%. But if you ve crossed 60, suffer from heart disease and/or hyper tension, you can manage these diseases better through tobacco cessation.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Chewing tobacco addiction comes under SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ADDICTION. Deaddiction treatment is best suited for such addictions. Medically assisted drug detoxification or alcohol detoxification alone is ineffective as a treatment for addiction. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) recommends detoxification followed by both medication (where applicable) and behavioral therapy, followed by relapse prevention.

Licorice (Mulethi) One of the most opted natural remedies to refrain oneself from smoking is chewing a licorice stick whenever you feel the urge to smoke. This is a good substitute for a cigarette. It curbs the urge to smoke and regulates the digestive system.
