Hello sir/mum I have become very upset in my life. I had a problem of ocd, I consulted the doctor and started taking medicine. I started feeling very good. After 2 months I stopped taking the medicine. I think I am fine now. After some time again I started getting troubled by all the same thoughts. But I didn't take medicine I thought I would get addicted to this medicine. I didn't even know how my studies and career got spoiled. Because of all these thoughts. Then I made a firm commitment that now I have to take medicine. Because I got depression too. I am 25 years old. College completed 3 years and still I am jobless. But when I took the medicine so all of a sudden I feel good my confidence started coming back. But then one thought ruined it all. That's why I came to know about this medicine. Because one day one of my uncles came to my house so at that time my head was hurting. My uncle suggested a doctor to me because my father told my uncle already that I have problem of headache. And on that time my head is hurting because I read about something on internet that I listen from my that relative to which I hate the most. So I made a conclusion that I know about this medicine because of my that relative I hate the most. Because on that day if a do not read about that topic which I listens from my relative. Then on that day my head is not hurting and my head is not hurting then on that day my uncle do not suggest a doctor. Because they think I am fine they suggest me a doctor because on that day me head is hurting. And may be in future I go to the doctor for my headache but may be that doctor is physician or other and I am not get the proper treatment of my problem at all. Thats why I stopped medication? My life is ruined totally. Now the situation is I am at the position of do or die.

Dear Shubham,
Your position now at 25 years of age is, 'DO'. Do take tablets. These tablets are not addictive. Do get rid of those useless intrusive thoughts. Do join a job. Do become confident of your strengths. Do consult the doctor regularly. OCD need long term treatment after improvement, NOT just 2 months.

You are on good medication but your problem is that you have not combined it with therapy. In therapy you will learn a lot of skills, tools and techniques to help you cope with your condition. But medicine by itself is not enough. The earlier the detection and intervention, the better the results. Don't delay or waste thi...more
