Hi, I shifted to a new city fir 6 months. I had alcohol almost daily. And during the day .i felt itch on body and when evening I would rush home for alcohol as it will give me some relief. Now I have gotten rid of alcohol. But some time I have itch on random parts of body. Is it due to alcohol abuse I did on my body. Is it affecting my liver. Is unhealthy liver causing this itch problem. Please advice. I am ready to do anything for my peace of mind.

I rarely drink, like twice a year. Last time I took a drink was back in january 2020 and then this october and this is my normal intake since last 2 years and the quantity is not more than 3 pegs per consumption. I lost 12 kg of weight from 84 to 72 by working out this lockdown, and I have been getting signs of alcohol allergies (42.8% alcoholic drink diluted with cold drinks, like red and itchy skin on my hands but mostly on entire legs, ice pack and still (a hygiene liquid) helps in temporary relief. Is there a solution to this? Or do I have to leave alcohol completely even after a rare consumption (just to socialize).

There can be particular type or brand of alcohol you are allergic to, as they are produced by fermentation of rice, barley, yeast, others. So find the type of alcohol you are allergic and avoid the same. You can consume it as a socialising drink, the one which does not produce allergy. good luck.

Health Query

I was in habit to consume almost 300-350 alcohol before sleep every night from 25 years, now from 45 days I have stopped drinking totally. I also use to eat gutkha (rajnigandha + tulsi) from 25-30 years. After leaving drinking I do not feel any type of hunger and too much gas. I am a regular exerciser and use to go gym for 6 days a week for 75 minutes. This gas problem and no hungriness effects my performance in gym. I feel it to be leaky gut due to regular consumption of alcohol and tobacco. Will you suggest me supplements to get free from this problem.

My husband has a drinking problem. Twice in a week he drinks but he does not have any control of how much he is drinking. His one peg consists of more than like 90 ml. Once he starts drinking he doesn't know when to stop. He drinks until he falls asleep. It is creating a huge problem in our marriage. In social gatherings also he keeps doing the same things but he regret it later of his doings. How to control his drinking behaviour? Please suggest some medicine that will help him to control his intake of alcohol? Sometimes at once once he finishes 650 ml of alcohol in a day. It has become a huge problem. Please doctor some medicines that will limit his alcohol intake!
