Possible complications of tonsillitis include: a middle ear infection (otitis media) – where fluid between the eardrum and inner ear becomes infected by bacteria. Quinsy (peritonsillar abscess) – an abscess (collection of pus) that develops between one of the tonsils and the wall of the throat.

Dear lybrate-user, your daughter has septic tonsillitis for which oral antibiotics will not at all be the treatment of choice. She needs a thorough assessment of her tonsils by a competent ent specialist. You may consult me or any other ent specialist at the earliest as waiting may lead to secondary complications.
