Avoid sitting cross legged.
Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.
Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day...more

if you take alcohol then you have to stop drinking. you have to check your renal functions by doing appropriate blood investigations. because if your renal functions are not satisfactory then your uric acid will remain high

hello allen..
as you said you are having gouty arthritis,,i would advice you to start allopurinol or febuxostat along with colchicine.....apply ice over the toe...consult privately for detailed prescription..thanks

-always elevate your leg during sitting position. -avoid long standing/walking -during sleeping keep pillow under the foot.
-apply hot water (3 minutes), normal water (1 minute) at painful area, always start & stop with hot water& apply three times a day for 15 to 30 minutes
- do ankle pump exercise 2 times a day (10 repeatation)

knee is complex joint and it's a main weight bearing joint of body among ankle and hip. Whenever you have put on some weight more than actual bmi knee joint became more stressful. Firstly you have to start light activities of knee joint within comfort level. Then followed by walk. Be careful about your diet also. Take plenty of water.
