Please visit your nearby dentist. Usually deposits around the teeth causes pain and inflammation in gums. You might need cleaning of teeth (scaling and polishing) which might require single or two sittings depending upon the condition.

Hi lybrate-user,
gum recession can be due various reasons. Mostly it is due to deposits form on your teeth. These deposits need to be cleaned manually no ointment or medicine will help without cleaning. Only till certain stage it is reversible, if gum recession reaches to advanced stage it becomes irreversible even surgery will not be able to restore it completely. My advise for you that don't waste your time in home remedies. Take proper treatment from a dentist along with that you continue...more

Irregular brushing technique with worn out tooth brush will certainly cause the gums to swell & bleed. Bleeding is also due to infected & swollen gums. Advise investigation (opg x-ray) with clinical examination for the treatment to check for bone loss & pockets. Adv. Artificial enamel filling, deep cleaning or surgical curettage, a gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meal. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks.

Hello dear, bone loss cannot be rectified by any medication, moreover treatment can be done depending on the type of bone loss (horizontal /vertical). Without visitng the clinician it cannot be diagnosed properly. As a precautionary measure get your scaling done frequqently depending on your oral hygeine status.

Dear lybrate-user, if there is swelling and pain in your gums it could be due to tooth or gum infection. In this case I strongly recommend you to visit a dentist immediately, as the infection may spread. The dentist will not only stop the pain but also treat the swelling.
