Tinnitus is when you experience ringing or other noises in one or both of your ears. The noise you hear when you have tinnitus isn't caused by an external sound, and other people usually can't hear it. Tinnitus is a common problem. It affects about 15% to 20% of people, and is especially common in older adults.

It's a sign that something is wrong with your auditory system, which includes your ear, the auditory nerve that connects the inner ear to the brain, and the parts of the brain that process sound. There are a variety of different conditions that can cause tinnitus. One of the most common is noise-induced hearing loss.

When evaluating tinnitus cases, hearing health professionals use a supplemental set of tests. While there is currently no way to objectively test for tinnitus, there are several protocols to measure the patient's subjective perception of tinnitus sound, pitch, and volume.

Dear lybrate-user, relax, salicylic acid has no role to play in the treatment of tinnitus. It also causes acidity as a side effect. You have not given a proper history of your symptoms like is there associated vertigo or hearing loss. You require a thorough neuro-otologic evaluation, please consult a good ent specialist at the earliest. Sincerely.dr. Vilas.

But if you hear muffled ringing in your ears, a phenomenon known as tinnitus, after the show, it may be a sign that you got too close to the speakers.
