If you have an injury where you think tetanus could be a possibility and haven't had a booster shot within the past 5 years, you should get to the hospital within 24 hours. It's important to know that the size of the wound doesn't matter when it comes to tetanus. Let's have a detailed discussion for better advice and healthy lifestyle.

Was the wound deep? If it's just superficial and scissor was not very unclean then chance of tetanus is very less even otherwise since you have been immunised already with tt 3 months back there is no role for it now.

In an ideal scenario, the answer would be no. But its always better to get a shot now for a confirmed protection.

Tetanus vaccine will be effective for 10 years. If your wound is minor or uncontaminated, if you have taken booster within past 10 years then re-vaccination is not required now. Still if you want you can take. There are no major adverse effects with tt.

No need to take tt injection if you have already taken the dose 2.5 years back. Next booster dose after 10 years of previous dose. Just take wound care till it heals completely. Hopefully you have got your answer.

I am sorry to hear about your concern, but I will be happy to assist you.
The tetanus bacteria can infect a person even through a tiny scratch. But you are more likely to get tetanus through deep punctures from wounds created by nails or knives.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.
