Hypothyroidism can produce depressive symptoms. If the depressive symptoms persist after thyroid hormones are corrected, you need to consult a psychiatrist and take treatment for depression as well. All the best.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Paresthesia is usually not described as a symptom of hypothyroidism. But as thyroxine deficiency affects various metabolic activities, any kind of symptom may occur. TSH 9.5 is very close to having overt hypothyroidism. Thanks.

lybrate-user, If you have hypothyroidism, then treatment with thyroxine needs to be started. With treatment it is essential to bring TSH level between 3 to 4 mU/L, then only all the symptoms will be in check. Thanks.

TSH level of 7.62 usually indicated hypothyroidism. I do not prefer to use Eltroxin or Thyronorm. I prefer to use compounded thyroid containing a combination of T3 + T4 (Armour equivalent). However, if you are getting satisfactory relief of symptoms with 25 mcg of eltroxin, you may continue the same. The dose of THyroid meds depends on clinical picture as well as comprehensive lab parameters, merely TSH level is not good enough. 25 mcg of Eltroxin sounds like a good starting dose which will most...more

Please do thyroid profile once and take the doctor's opinion after a check-up. Being alert and taking good care of your health ( follow healthy lifestyle ) will help you to enjoy good health. Go for preventive health check up once a year. Please revert after that for further clarification or any information.
