Retinal transplant is not possible as of now. As it turns out, only one part of the eye can be transplanted. Medical science has no way to transplant whole eyes. When someone receives an "eye transplant," they are being given a donor cornea, the clear front part of the eye. Your eye is a complex organ connected to your brain by the optic nerve

Lybrate-user, laser is used when there is proliferative retinopathy and bleeding (pre- retinal, or vitreal). Because those newly generated vessels which bleed have to be burned. Once that is done, if needed other treatments also can be used like intra vitreal injections. The treating ophthalmologist is the best judge for treatment choice. It better to follow that, as this is a sight threatening condition. Thanks for the question.

Hello, as your grandfather has uncontrolled blood sugar level, and has vision problem in one eye, you should consult opthalmologist first and rule out diabetic retinopathy (common complication of eye related to diabetes), and get him checked throughly for other diabetes related complications too like nephropathy, neuropathy etc.
Consult urgently, without wasting time.
