You could be a habitual smoker or an addict, but the 5 year period is not enough to trigger withdrawal symptoms when you quit smoking. The five D’s to handle Urges·
• Delay until the urge passes—usually within 3-5 minutes • Distract yourself • Call a friend or go for a walk
• Drink water to fight off cravings • Deep Breaths—Relax! Close your eyes and take 10 slow, deep breaths • Discuss your feelings with someone close to you.
Consult a deaddiction specialist/psychiatrist for further course of action.

Take sauna bath for 5 days. This is because it helps to release the nicotine along with the perspiration that happens during taking it. So the craving for smoking is reduced. Later, inform me after 2 weeks the changes.

Many methods are available for you to quit smoking. But, nothing is as effective as will power. You need to have strong will power. To reduce craving on stopping cigarete, you can use nicotine gum, lozenges, patch etc. I may provide counseling and methods to prevent relapse through telephone counseling. Hi, conrats. There is no side effect on stopping suddenly. One may be that there is a possibility of weight gain which can be managed by life style modification like physical exercise and by taking appropriate diet. Best of luck.
