Minor alternative squint may not need any surgery. Get a complete eye evaluation by an ophthalmologist or eye surgeon and go by that advice.

Post a successful squint surgery, the eye maintains an orthophoric position that is a primary position with no deviation. Unless there are any late post operative complications, it generally maintains it's primary position.

If your vision is good in both eyes and sufficient for your job, esp if your CV is good, presence of squint by itself may not be a hindrance in getting a job. However, some hirers like governments or defence services may have rigid exclusion criteria which you may check with them in advance.

Squint is not a reason for rejection in medical test. It depends on for what purpose you are going. Your visa agent or job consultant can guide you. If in doubt, consult an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) again.

Squint has to be treated as early as possible in early age. Three steps of treatments are there. 1. Glasses if refractive error is there 2. Eye patching 3. Operation. Nothing to worry if it is a simple squint. Need detailed examination.
