At this age parents should be able to understand everything that their child says and strangers should understand about 75% but if it is difficult to understand child speech even by parents. Then its better to consult a speech therapist for the same.

Its possible treatments may include voice or speech therapy, hormone therapy, and surgery. Puberphonia is another cause of soft voice in males which can be treated by speech therapy. Surgery is done to lengthen the vocal cords and treating same.

Hi lybrate-user. Most of the time (for all age groups), whether the brain clot is surgically treated or not, the speech problem still remains. It’s the fact. Please go ahead and fix the clot. But don’t expect her speech to be fixed just by fixing her clot. Clot fixing and Speech recovery are 2 different things. Hi lybrate-user. Yes. you need to meet ENT specialist .get your video laryngoscopy done. Its very imp to see if any swelling, nodule or polyp is present over your vocal cords or its just a LPR.
