There are some people who are on a reactive mode and will quit only after they have got a disease or reach the worst condition in their abuse. In addiction parlance this is called ‘Hitting Rock Bottom’, that is, you will cease the abuse only when you have suffered the worst affect of the substance. Sometimes that stage may be a terminal stage and there is no turning back: it has become too late. You must live by the adage that ‘Prevention is better than cure’. To quit do the following: When quit...more

Dear, the best approach is to be fully aware of its negative aspects and quit it willingly. You will need sheer will power. Initially take steps like' will not smoke in my house' not in office' not on the street' and keep such promises. Secondly don' t buy in packets. Make it compulsive that when you crave for smoking, go to a shop and buy one and smoke. There are nicotine chewing gums available for immediate use while craving. Keep them in your poscket. Take care.

I suppose you mean how to be able to stop the habit. That is really good that you want to stop smoking because it is really very harmful. Just the fact that you want to give up smoking is a good starting point. The habit can be very difficult to halt because of the many conditions attached to smoking. In fact these conditions can exist all through the day unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of sm...more

Many a times clients make up their mind only to loose motivation midway. Make sure you don't do the same. Before medicines, try this. Set a quit date and keep on decreasing till that day. Abstain from smoking from the quit date. You may face withdrawal once you completely stop smoking. If you can't control withdrawals meet a psychiatrist for medicines. There is a high chance you can do it without medicines. Just see that the quit date is not too far away.
