you are smoker how many cigarette you smoke daily.there are smokers cogh syndrome. and irrirritated of throats this is the effect of nicotine and caffeine. you do regular warm saline gargle twice daily. have homemade freshly prepared lemon juice which is rich in vitamin C thereby increasing your body autoimmune system which prevents infection. go for morning walk followed by free hand exercises. have plenty of water by mouth. it will be alright.

U did not inform whether he stopped the habit. No he has only one choice of treatment surgery and radiotherapy. He can't say no, he does not have any choice. This no he would have told to his habit of smoking and now he is having the problem he has no chance of his opinion.

It may have nothing to do with smoking unless something specific has happened which you have not mentioned. Any which way, smoking is not at all good. It would be very prudent, Prudence, to quit it and with immediate effect. For the back pain get some physiotherapy, if it is too severe and if it continues for an extended period of time.
