You should have a Chest Xray first.. And should reveal out what is exact problem.. 2 years are a worried point..
It may be symptom of bronchial asthma, or infection, Bronchitis, or sometimes heart problem like LVH like that or may be another unfortunate disease.... it may be hereditary..
So need to diagnose..

Difficulty in breathing can also be due to the panic you are having due to claustrophobia. A ct scan can better detect that whether everything is alright with your lungs. See a psychiatrist for helping you with the claustrophobia.
