For a young child who cannot swallow, an alternative should be preferred like drinking sips of warm water with added salt and turmeric. It also acts in the same way to decrease swelling in throat and as a local antiseptic. If the child develops fever, you may need to start other medications after consulting a doctor.

This is probably because you have gum disease. You should get a scaling appointment fixed with your dentist. You could use warm saline rinses at home 4-5 times a day too and mouthwash. Oral sex can lead to problems on your palate and not on the left side of your mouth.

Make sure it is not because of cold or associated with neck pain.
If you are experiencing a sore throat it is most commonly due to viral infection, and can be one of the major reason for your headache, it could be due to chronic migraine, if so then you may need a medical consultation.

- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth.
- floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque.
- control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth.
