This is called posterior vitreous detachment (pvd). It is very common and more likely to happen as you get older. As the vitreous pulls away from your retina you may see this as a flash of light in one or both eyes, like small sparkles, lightning or fireworks.

Hi. My wife is 32 and has xanthelasma due to cholesterol, more in the left eye, emerging in the right eye. She is using garlic paste as home remedy to cure the same. It was going good initially but now we can see swelling in the infected portion after applying the garlic paste. Could you please advise if this will lead to positive side or if it is going to worsen the infected area? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Xanthelasma is treated by removing the deposit with:
extreme cold or freezing surgery (called cryotherapy)
laser surgery.
Traditional surgery to remove and repair the skin.
Extreme heat surgery (electric needle)
chemical peels.
Regarding home remedies avoid fatty foods, reduce weight.

I am 27 years old, my xanthelasma is in its initial stage, but getting visible since a month, wats the solution. Should I apply tca peel on my own? Or if you recommend something, I am using himalaya abana tabs twice and using niaciamide currently.

I have retinal holes in both eyes and doctor suggested to perform barrage laser to seal the holes. I checked the aftercare of laser and found not to lift heavy weights. I have a 1 year old baby who weighs around 10 kgs. Can I lift him? If no until when?

Common side effects may include: mild irritation where the medicine was applied; temporary yellow discoloration of the whites of your eyes; or. Temporary yellow discoloration on the skin where betadine ophthalmic solution was applied.
