As far as tooth decay is concerned, filling are the permanent treatment to this condition. Taking pain killers or brushing twicw or thrice will not help. They will give you only temporary relief. Once tooth decay has occured its better to get filling done otherwise delaying it may worsen condition over a period of time which may lead to root canal treatment or surgery.

For front teeth it is better to go for full ceramic caps as metal would cause staining and also it refracts the light and the metal portion seems darker in light and it becomes easy to ascertain that it is a fake tooth. Ask your dentist about ultra translucent crowns. They’re slightly expensive but the best solution for front teeth.
