- avoid spicy, fried & junk food, also restrict intake of tea, coffee to 1-2 cups per day, avoid alcohol & smoking

Let him visit personally to a doctor for a routine check up as a preventive measure. Dear lybrate-user, you are just 20. You will not face any withdrawal symptoms or health consequences on suddenly leaving smoking. Quitting addictive substances is not an easytask. You can go for deaddiction therapy. But according to me, the best method would be, you quit the habbit now itself. Sustain the quitting with the help of self motivation. I suggest counseling and psychotherapy. Please consult a psychologist. Take care.
