Let him visit personally to a doctor for a routine check up as a preventive measure. One should go for regular health check up at once a year so the doctor can physically check the vital parameters as well as some basic tests. Let the doctor examine him and diagnose. At the same time he should focus on living a healthy lifestyle. Exercising everyday and doing Yoga can also boost good sleep and restore the normal sleep rhythm. Please revert after that for further clarification.

Dear lybrate-user, you are just 20. You will not face any withdrawal symptoms or health consequences on suddenly leaving smoking. Quitting addictive substances is not an easytask. You can go for deaddiction therapy. But according to me, the best method would be, you quit the habbit now itself. Sustain the quitting with the help of self motivation. I suggest counseling and psychotherapy. Please consult a psychologist. Take care.
