If you are in treatment and that is the reason you have no cough and mucus anymore then it means that you are responding well to the treatment. Or the other reason is that you may have a collapse of the lower lobe completely and obstruction of mucus. Get a new HRCT done to help.

It will not get worse if she takes adequate treatment. If the doctor has diagnosed cough variant asthma he/she would have put her on inhalers too. Take them regularly even when she is asymptomatic. She will recover with regular treatment and check ups.
