I am suffering from Shortness of breath, irregular heartbeats, psychosis, anxiety, depression, constant headache, heavy head, panic disorder, unstoppable thoughts & thinking, brain thinking not in my control etc. I have been suffering from constant headache, anxiety, depression, heavy head, restlessness, unstoppable thinking not in my hand etc. From last years end of february. Than these symptoms were there when in last years november ,panic disorder (due to consumption of ganja) and other symptoms started. These all symptoms are continuously there ,and never gone. I am continuously in touch with psychiatrist from last years august. And I suffered from ups and downs in my mental health followed with panic attacks (fear of dying). And panic attack arose after consumption of ganja in last years november. So the main aim to consult you (dietician) is to let me know ,what all physical activities I can do to recover fastly and what all meal plans (foods that will be good for mental health) should I take regularly so that I can recover fastly. Actually I am taking medications continuously, and I found medications sometimes made my health worsened than sometimes helpful. Overall there is only 10% improvement in my health with medication. So I just wanted to focus now on the natural ways to recover fastly. I want to do it on my own. As I am frustrated with this mental health. I want you to tell me the physical activities that I can do regularly to cope up with mental health and also the meal plan required with it. I am damn serious ,i will follow the physical activity plan and meal plan provided by you to recover my health back and walk on roads like a normal human. Please give me a good diet plan or foods that I should take to recover fastly. For example, if I am jogging and running in morning at 6 a.m,than it will require a diet plan for body to make me again jogg and do physical activity next day. As my body feels week too sometimes.

What I understood from your writing is that you are highly anxious and worried. You may not be having that many kind of illnesses as you described. I am a Clinical Psychologist and what I feel is that you did not get psychological interventions like psychotherapy or counselling in addition to your treatment now. Try to avail cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for the same. Definitely healthy diet with fish and fish oil (omega3) will help you. Avoid direct sugars, processed food and Too much of fa...more

Repetitive tasks, intrusive and repetitive thoughts, checking, counting, disproportionate excess need for order and cleanliness, as well as anxiety when not able to do the same are signs of obsessive compulsive disorder. Patients with OCD suffer from significant distress, anxiety and depression due to the same which impairs their quality of life. Please consult a Psychiatrist at the earliest. With a combination of medication and behavioral therapy it is likely that your symptoms will improve.

Someone has to make your family realise that anxiety and depression are also medical illnesses and needs to be evaluated and treated by a psychiatrist. Since you are major you can seek treatment on your own, if you don't have money seek help from any government medical college psychiatry department which usually provides free consultation and mediations, which will help you recover. All the best.

hello I am 17 years old male person .i am suffering from some disorder which I do not know correctly ,it may be depression or psychosis .Now I am going to explain my symptoms points wise. This problem started exactly 2 years before. Firstly before 2 years I entered into 10th class with change of my section into a topper class slowly my happiness decreased day to day sadness increased ,day by day my focus and concentration decreased .once upon a time I used to get good marks and high ranks I entered into toppers class then slowly my marks also decreased ,i was not able to focus and concentrate on studies ,cannot getup early in the morning for studies but before I used to study at 1: 00 am in the morning but now those habits all ruined. Slowly day by day I became failure ,i cannot used to understand any lessons ,studies ,classes ,it is all about like my brain had stopped working I thought. I did not even get memories, thoughts, cannot imagine, focus, concentrate ,enjoy ,no laugh ,no cry, no sadness, no happiness, no feelings mainly ,no proper memory power. Like this I have time passed for 5 months. Then one day I tried and did hard work to getup early at 1 am in the morning again and woke up and studied crazily like just reading but not understanding and something like by hearting method for the next day exam .and later appeared for the exam but same situation ,cannot understand the questions ,but slowly slowly I attempted small questions by recalling answers then suddenly I got a feeling like sudden flow of blood into brain I thought my brain started working .yes ,it really started ,suddenly I became active my memory returned ,my thoughts started, my feelings started, my imagination started, my happiness also started then ,quickly I started attempting the questions in no time .exam finished results came I passed in a high rank rank i.e state 6th I thought that this change happened due to my studying at 1 am the before day. So again I started reading and studying books at 1 am everyday. But it gone reverse my brain got slowed day by day ,my 10 th public exam came near ,and a new problem started as like before my brain got stopped for some time during the school time and during small exams then immediately I informed my father about this and within no time we consulted a psychiatrist exactly one day the public exams ,so he given clonazep, and amisulpride tablets ,with that I managed some what during the exams and completed or written the exams with so much hard work, one thing I forgot to mention is that some songs are used to play continuously in my mind and also im itself singing that songs in my heart ,and also during the exam time ,if I not sing songs in my heart the writing of exams may become difficult because without that songs ,i am not getting thoughts and the answer to write. Finally I got 9.7 gpa points in my exams but the doctor changed my course and given another tablets named schidon plus hcl and amisulpride tablets .this is summer holidays time .i used to get more sleep and drowsiness, my brain day by day became weak and suddenly one day I forgot to swallow the the tablets then brain again stopped working slowly ,also next three days I did not take the tablets because I went out of station for a function in village. Then I returned home and also taken tablets but no change immediately I informed my psychiatrist that my brain stopped again. I thought that this total negative change is due to the tablets he given (schidon plus hcl means risperidone and trihexyphenidyl hcl and amisulpride). So I changed many doctors also consulted a psychologist but my brain did not started working upto now it is 2 years upto now .i had left the college 1 year due to this problem ,i forgot to mentioned one thing that in this last one year my brain worked but only one day exactly 20 hours the reason behind this is due to that I had taken schidon plus hcl and amisulpride for 40 days exactly then suddenly we changed doctor and suddenly tablets also changed ,i started new tablets (stalopam and amisulpride tablets) then immediately after taking tablets I got the same feeling as a sudden flow of blood into the brain and same situation brain again started working ,my feelings started, my thoughts started, my happiness started, my imagination and all started but after 20 hours it stopped working due to end of tablets reaction effect. So this is the long story and upto now I have taken 6 ect sessions. But no improvement at all .so what should I do now?

Hello, There are many aspects of depression, the more of them you have the more likely you are to have a clinical depression. Some patients feel severely depressed and suicidal. If you have these feelings you should go to the emergency department immediately. Other things that people with depression can feel are sadness, low energy, lack of motivation, poor sleep, irritability, weight gain or loss, poor self image and sometimes even a lack of touch with reality. The more of these symptoms you ha...more

Yes there are some indirect side effects like sleeping tendencies and weight gain. Weight gain is not related to the tablets. But medicine creates leathery feeling due to that people's likes to be in sedentary lifestyles. So it's better to taper the doses slowly by consulting your psychiatrist. And maintain regular exercises vegetarian diet and avoid fried and junk food. And do yoga and pranayama. And keep your mind relaxed.

Hi, I'm a acute transient psychosis patient diagnosed at the age of 14. Initially my dosage was very high now im 25 years old consuming 500 mg Divalporate and 50 mg Quitapin plain. Im good when I do not have any relapses and very effective. I completed B. Tech Mechanical with 60 % and got placed in a company as well. Right now im doing software courses. I have few questions: 1 .When I will get rid of my medicine? 2. With these dosage if I can act like a average person so I wonder if im not consuming these medicines I will be more effective with work as well as studies but my relapse will happen in a year or sometime after 2 years. So, is there any alternative for these medicines? 3. I visited many doctors, some say you are suffering from psychosis disorder, some say bipolar or schizophrenia, some say sleeping problems. Why this many doubts in my case. So, what exactly im suffering from? Though I consumed many dosages initially but when I was reviewed with a doctor (Psychiatrist) He advised me the doctors are giving high dosage it can be reduced to minimum. Since then im in contact with that doctor and that is how my dosage is reduced but I want to know whether it can reduced or is there any need of these medicines. I suffer from relapses in a year, sometime 2 years. I will appreciate if any psychiatrist clears my doubts. Thank you.

Dear lybrate-user,
Whether you have transient psychosis or bipolar or schizophrenia or sleeping problem, it is for the psychiatrist to diagnose and treat you properly. With this dose you are without relapse and acting like average person. Why do you want to lose those effects of drugs.
Bipolar disorder is a relapsing disorder - sometimes with high overconfident mood sometimes with low self esteem sad mood. Both will be kept under control with valproate and quetiapine.

Dear Shaik,
rTMS is repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation. It is one of the modes of treatment - but not the only mode. If drugs do not work or if you can not tolerate drugs and if you are suicidal, it will be advised. You can take it at conscious level unlike ECT that is done under anaesthesia. It needs a number of sessions. Please discuss with you r doctor about it. You can assess the improvement yourself. But you need to continue the medicines also along with rTMS.
