Reversible is possible but having prostate cancer testosterone is to cut so forget about vasectomy.

Biopsy says prostate cancer and I have been using hydrastis canadensis 61 vol % alcohol (10 drops four times a day) and bacteria 50 (1 tab/ day) since one month. I’m 70 years old. I’m going through ca prostate. I’ve gone through radiotherapy, hormonal therapy and I’m now on chemotherapy. My drugs are zyfoss injection (zoledro denk) 4 mg, stilboestrol 5 mg and ascard tablets. Treatment has been going on for 3 yrs. My bone scan indicate no metastasis yet, this treatment is causing me a lot of pain on the arms and legs. What do I do. Please advise.

I am being given xegeva 120 ml. Injection every month once and am taking one tablet calutide50 mg. Besides one tablet supracal every day which is ongoing. I have already undergone parallel archeactomy before starting this treatment for my prostate cancer which has spread to the bones including pelvic bone as revealed by the psma pet ct scan done after the operation. May I know whether this ongoing treatment will cure my cancer and how long will this treatment take.

My grandfather is 82 years old. He has prostate glands 23 26gms also suffering from prostate cancer. He takes daily bicalutamide tab last 1 year .now he is facing problem while urine like burning, he has to go bathroom after 20 to 30 mins. He also takes urimax0. 4 tab daily from last around 10 months but now he faces lots of problems regarding urine. I want to know about there is any solution to decrease the size of prostate glands or should we go for operation?

Dear Mr. lybrate-user,
what treatment you father has taken for cancer prostate. Radiotherapy? If yes then he may have burning in urine. If not he might be having urinary infection/ other causes and should be investigated with ultrasound (kub) with post void residual urine, urine routine and culture sensitivity.
Once checked treatment can be suggested.

Hi, In june, 2017 I was diagnosed with metastic prostatic adenocarcinoma. My gleason score was 8 and psa 465. I was taken as a participant for clinical trial of firmagon (degarelix) under Dr. Sujoy gupta at tata medical centre, kolkata. I was administrated primary dose of degarelix 240 mg and subsequently 17 doses of 80 mg after every 28 days during the period 03.07.17 to 19.11.18. Psa gradually came down and after 12th dose it was 0.510. But afterwards, it began to rise and stood at 2.33 on 17.09.18. As per doctor advice, underwent bilateral orchiectomy on 29.11.18. Even then, psa kept on rising and stood at 46.85 on 08.01.19. For further treatment, I was referred to Dr. (radiotherapy, frcr (clinical oncology) at tata medical centre, kolkata. As per him, I have become castrate resistant and as advised I am on abiraterone acetate (abirapro 250 mg) 4 tablets at a time along with omnacortil 5 in empty stomach since 11.01.19. But psa is on the rise and last test results of 27.03.19 shows the level at 97.83. He has suggested me to continue the medicine for another month and review with him with fresh psa reports at the end of this month. I beseech to advise whether I am on the right treatment, suggest the best of the treatment or refer a doctor with whom we should consult?
