Dear patient,
as one grows old the arteries get thick because of fat deposition and aging. This is called atherosclerosis. Hence the bp rises in old age. In some old patients the bp control receptors and centre in the brain become weak and hence they get low bp. Some of them have weak heart with low ejection fraction. That can also cause low bp. I hope this helps.

Most important thing for you is to decrease your body weight. If body weight is not decreasing by diet and exercise, then you have to consult endocrinologist for your body weight. Regarding your bp, you have to first document that you are having high bp. For that you have to measure your bp by a qualified doctor. Till then decrease your salt intake by half and decrease your body weight.

Yes your bp is high, get checked again. Reduce salt anyway. Salt in packed foods as salt is a preservative. Avoid excess salt as it leads to water retention and some swellings, and the bp will remain high despite good medicines. Get tested for heart also. Ecg and halter tests plus blood for sugar and lipids and get back here with reports. You will get more guidance from any of us here.
