Dear user, it is not necessary that only exposure to smoke causes lung cancer. There have been cases where people who are not exposed to smoke or cigarettes in any form but they have lung cancer. It is completely based on genetics and the body's immunity. You can consult me for more doubts regarding this online by clicking on my photo and booking an appointment however, if you found my answer helpful, please leave a positive feedback as it helps me with my practice. Thank you.

Yes. This may happen in some cases. Typically after 6 cycles of double agent chemotherapy we keep patient on maintainance therapy with pemetrexed till disease progression. Else pt will need to be put on 2 nd line chemotherapy or immunotherapy. Other options include oral targeted therapy if she is positive for either of mutations like egfr, alk, ros 1, met, braf which can be checked on biopsy tissue.

Hello.
Its a good sign that your tumor has responded to chemotherapy and has decreased in size. Once you complete your planned chemotherapy, your oncologist will advise a repeat scan to exactly assess how much the tumor has shrunk and where all it is present. If you initially had a localized disease and the tumor is operable now, surgery may be an option. However, the best treatment and life expectancy can be discussed only after reviewing all ýour scans and reports. Ensure a healthy diet. P...more

You have not mentioned about your previous pet ct report. If the current pet ct suggests progression of disease then we have to change medication and if its static or improved than last pet ct then we have to continue same treatment.
