Asked for male, 28 years old from Mumbai

Hi, I had hip pain for 15 days. After doing mri, test found acute sacrolitis in left. Is further more test required for treatment? My doctor asked for cbc, esr, hla b27, xray chest (pa), mantoux test. Are these test necessary, or my doctor is just looting me? He has already done with mri for 7000 which was available in other clinic for 4000.

I have continuous keen pain I can not walk it's paining this is my city scan impression multiple subchondral cysts are seen in left patella. 1. osteopenia bones. 2. osteoarthritis changes bilateral knee joints (left > right) with minimal bilateral knee joint effusion. 3 there is minimal bilateral knee joint effusion 4 fev subchondral cysts are seen in bilateral medial femoral condyle and right medial tibial condyle.

You have hight osteoarthritic changes with many other joint diseases and your age need to be told. Anyway you need a knee replacement.

Hi Sir, I am taking mesacol 400 mg tablets 2-0-1 for the past 4 years as maintenance dose for ulcerative colitis, which I had contracted almost 25 years ago, the maintenance dose for which I am taking is for last 4 years. I am 70 years old and is not on any other medication except covance 50 mg tablets for bp in 1-0-0 dosage. Of late I am getting knee pain on both my legs which the physician says is starting of osteo arthritis. Since I am moderately active with regular morning walks for 1 hour and some mild yoga exercises and is not smoker or alcoholic and I am very regular with my food timings I am constrained to believe that the so called osteo arthritis can be due tomesacol. If so please advise a way to come out of this ailment.

You have osteoarthritis and it is not due to mesacol and your age is the cause of oa which happens as the age advances despite being active or engaged in exercises as you do.

Just consider multivitamin suppliments along with calcium rich diet, and start with vitamin d 3 suppliments and continue it for 8 weeks weekly once. Reduce the squatting and crossed leg sitting etc.

Arthritis is very common that you get generally bilaterally. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone.
