Hello Mr. lybrate-user, Apart from taking medicines do proper exercises for your knees. Exercises like strenght training of your quadriceps especially VMO, stretching for hamstring, calf,TFl, proprioceptive training, apply ice 3 times a day if it is swelled too much, you can also apply hinged knee brace if you feel pain during walking in your knees. Consult a good qualified Physiotherapist for proper care further.

hello .
u do some precautions as u can't sit on floor,use Western toilet,
For pain relief u take hot water Fermentation on both knee for 15 minutes.
Now u do exercises.
1. Bend ur knee with heel slide as possible without pain then hold for second then straight it. do 10 times with both knee.
2 . Take a towel roll and place under knee and press it downward hold for 5 second and relax it.
do 10 time with both knee.

You have to do following precautions you have to do hot fermentation for 15 to 20 min, practice some light stretching exercises for knee joint. You can use a number of different stretching methods. If unsure, consult an expert.
