Hi, I have a lump behind my ear on the bone because it doesn't feel like a lymph nodes. I researched and I saw that it could be mastoiditis. I was wondering if its because I did my hair a few days ago and the hairstyle is tight and itching and causing dry scalp for me so that be the problem?

Symptoms of mastoiditis include redness, swelling and tenderness around the bone. Fever, ear pain and discharge are possible. I hope U r not having any. So its most probably something else.Most common is enlarged lymph node

I had brain tumor surgery of left cp angle its been 6 months now but still I have pain behind ear in las MRI report I got there is mastoiditis but as per ENT surgeon its normal it will not hurt you. Do I need to worry about this?

Hi, There is a place on my neck below my earlobe, which is hardened. I do not have any strain on my neck or did I have any cold. My lymph node below that hardened surface is swollen a bit and upon touching a bit harder, both the lymph node and hardened surface are paining. It is not mastoiditis that I am sure. The hardened surface is below my ear and on the neck thank you.

Regards my bro he was 28 year old he was suffering from war pain doctor suggest to scan so gone through that we got a result like gliosis with residual encephalomalacic changes in the right temporal region and left otitis media features of mastoiditis and mild sphenoid sinusitis by seeing this impression doctor suggest for operation but they said that we won't give any guarantee and all like that so pls suggest me that we can cure that by medical or we have to go for operation pls suggest as.

Good evening sir/madam, My father age 65 years old. His left kidney was damaged on July 2017. Drs are operated and removed left kidney .and in 2012 years he was operated bypass surgery for heart. And present in 2018 years 17 the February night at 10-30 pm he was unconscious condition 1 hr. From 10-30 pm to 11-30 pm. On that time from his mouth foaming type water and little bit of blood was came, on that time his condition was unconscious. After wake up also he don't know any thing. After wake up his condition is normal. Why that unconscious problem occurred. And on 18 th we went to hospital Dr. s are advised brain MRI and eeg.in that eeg are normal report, but in MRI report impression (1) small vessel ischemic changes (2) T2/Flair hyperintensity in right mastoid air cells-S/o Right mastoiditis. 3) Micro Leeds in right thalamus-----hypertensive/amyloid angiopathic changes. Need to ask someone to explain the following in layman terms right extreme capsule lacunar infarct, no associated mass effect or edema. Calcified granuloma in the right middle cerebellar peduncle, likelyprevious insult. Bilateral terminal ica arteriosclerosis. No other intra or extra axial focal lesions/fluid collections/hemorrhage/edema. No midline shift. No hydrocephalus. No abnormal enhancement/dural venous sinus thrombosis. Ventrides and cisterns are normal and patent. Sella- & suprasellar region, cavernous sinuses, craniocervical junction are normal. Mucous retention cyst in the right maxillary sinus. Mild mucosal thickening of the left maxillary sinus. Small defect of the lamina papyracea on the left, with no herniation of the medial rectus muscle. pacification and sderosis of the inferior mastoid air cells on the right, suggestive of chronic mastoiditis - to becorrelated clinically. Skull is normal. Bilateral orbits, globes and optic nerves normal.

There are various abnormalities.
One is there is obstruction in the blood supply in one part.
One part has an old injury scaring in the brain.

Hello . You are probably having an acute infection of the bone behind the ear ( mastoiditis ) or an enlarged inflammed lymph node. Please get an ear examination done for confirmation of diagnosis and for appropriate medical management.
