Dear lybrate user. I do understand. You just smoked for 4 years. Your body is capable of repairing itself. But you should make sure that you do not smoke again. Your body must have started the repairing process on the next day of your quitting smoking. You could strengthen the process by exercising, having nutritious diet, drinking lots of water and fruit juices and never smoking again. Your lungs should be perfect within 6 months. Take care.

I think you have wrong information about lung inflammation .ask your treating doctor about the prescribed medication. Ibuprofen and other oral anti-inflammatory medication (except steroids) have no role in asthma.
