Purpose of crown/cap is to support and provide strength to tooth structure. Because the tooth becomes a bit brittle after rct. So it's always advised to get the tooth structure supported with a cap.

If the tooth is tooth much damaged then nothing can be done except. For root canal treatment and cap .or else if we do simple filling you might get. More pain and swelling.

Hello, it totally depends on the extent of fracture. If the dentist is opting for a crown that clearly gives an idea that tje fracture can be managed with a restoration and than a crown. And if the tooth is not mobile it is strong crown is the option. So go ahead
