However regarding the concern on his back pain, it must be due to prolonged illness and the strain in the back and the gluteal muscles and also the activity is highly minimized these might be the reasons for you to have back pain in the ends of the back, if it is a pathological pain then he will undoubtedly have pain in the legs and also the pain will radiate down the legs causing numbness. Due to blood circulation impairment the pain exists in the lower back.

Surgery is performed in much younger age. For few months after birth physiotherapy was recommended. Actually it all depends on the grade of the injury. Most common sholder injury is erb's or brachial plexus injury. I wish to know more about the case. Consult me personally for better understanding.
