Hello Mr. lybrate-user!
from your description it seems like you have an epithelial defect over your cornea. Due to blunt trauma to the eye especially forceful one (like an air hose pressure) the outermost superficial layer (epithelium) of the black part of eye (cornea) gets eroded, and since cornea is instrumental in vision, that is why you have blurry vision right now. The epithelium will slowly heal by bodyã¢â€â™s natural mechanism, but might leave a slight scar later on depending upon its...more

Nothing to worry about, if there are no other symptoms, don't panic. In any case, you have some doubt, consult your doctor.

Hello. Allergy in the eyes these days has become very common in our routine clinics, especially in summers. Allergy is a general term, but for eyes per se there are different types of allergic disorders like akc, vkc etc. The treatment will differ for every individual and a detailed assessment of each eye is crucial in deciding treatment plan. Generally a cocktail of drops is prescribed as each one addresses a different mechanism. Allergy in general cannot be cured, but can only be controlled. C...more

Hi, my left eye was a little sore at the corner for 3-4 days. Then day before yesterday, my lower eyelid started swelling. At first it was only a little painful but with time the swelling and pain kept on increasing. Right now, I have extreme pain in my left lower eyelid and the pain radiates to almost the entire left side of the eye. The swelling has also increased and the eyelid is red. There is a very small white color spot on the inside of the eyelid (not visible on the outside) but this has become smaller since the swelling has started increasing. There is also a burning sensation in the corner of my eye. I am taking enzoflam painkiller but it takes around 2 hours to reduce the pain and the effect lasts only 2-3 hours and then the pain comes back. I am also using moxicip eye drops and refresh tears but I don't think it is helping much. It has been 2 days of severe pain. Please advise.

Hello. Your symptoms seem to be suggestive of infection. What exactly is the swelling can not be commented upon right now without having a look at it. It may be a stye or an infected cyst going into a stage of pre-septal cellulitis. You need to start oral antibiotic tablets right away along with continuation of the present medications you are on. Hot water fomentation is equally stressed upon and will work like wonders if done religiously. Also consulting an ophthalmologist right now is advisabl...more

Hello sir.
Your symptoms are suggestive of allergy. Let me assure your first it is easily treatable with the right medicines. An eye doctor will like to know some more details before prescribing you drops. Do you have frequent cough cold or any allergy of other kind? Since how long you have these symptoms? A good quality picture of both eyes can provide a lot of information. It is advisable to try and not rub. Rubbing the eyes causes more release of histamine (an allergic chemical) which lea...more

Hello. Any developing corneal ulcer is treated initially with antibiotics/anti fungal/anti viral medicines (drops or oral tablets) depending on the infection type. If not very severe, mostly it gets controlled by medicines alone, but if not responding to drops even after 2 weeks, may need a corneal transplant surgery (just to control the infection. Even with medical therapy, it may leave a scar. If the scar is very large and in the centre of eyesight obstructing vision to a very large extent, th...more
