beta blockers are not responsible for falling hemoglobin.
There might be various reasons like blood loss (git/ piles), iron or vitamin difficiencies, chronic kidney, spleen disease or blood cells issues.
Few blood tests will guide us to confirm exact cause of low hemoglobin in this case.

If you have any previous reports share them with me. Anemia or low rbc or hb could be caused due to various underlying diseases. It needs a complete evaluation. As per your history it seems your brother has some malabsorption which is causing decrease nutrients absorption and less production of blood cells. But nothing could be suggested as 100% without proper evaluation. Text consult for the same.
