Your question is easy.
Yes hyperthyroidism does increase thirst.
It basically means high degree of metabolism of your body meaning all processes of your body are working more than a normal human.
Main symptoms are
heat intolerance
lean thin body (low amount of fat)
more sweating
tachycardia
high bp
but since you are taking your medications it's all fine.

Hypothyroidism cause difficency of minerals need to be corrected, such as :
Vit 'B',D,selenium,Zinc, thyrosin with iodine.

Palpitation is the common symptom in case of Hyperthyroidism. It is due to increase in pulse rate in Hyperthyroidism. If it is not there after controlling thyroid level with medicine, that's good.
