So, I already had asked many times, still not found my proper answer and hence asking again, I have hyperthyroidism, I get excessive gas and transient heart flutters due to it. Tsh is not normal. I was having thyroid medicines, and recently started tsh medicine, after which I never got gas, so I never got heart flutter. My only question is since I am not getting any heart flutter now, do I need any other separate medicine for heart? My doctor never tells me what medicine is given for what. Also, other question, if these transient heart flutters in hyperthyroid indicate a problem with heart, or heart is supposed to be alright? Someone told me, you need separate treatment for heart and then when thyroid is control you can leave medicine. Is he talking about the tsh medicine?

Palpitation is the common symptom in case of Hyperthyroidism. It is due to increase in pulse rate in Hyperthyroidism. If it is not there after controlling thyroid level with medicine, that's good. I think there is no need of heart checkup at your age. Sometimes treatment is started with hyperthyroid medication to control heart rate. But it does not mean that you hv to take it for long. If your Thytoid profile is absolutely normal and still you are feeling heart flutter than you need to go for heart check up to rule out any abnormalities.
