Mr. Lybrate-user. I would advise you to stop smoking immediately. Switch over to nicorete gum. Your heaviness in chest should subside. Go for regular morning walks
if breathing difficulty persists. Kindly go to a pulmonologist for further evaluation.

It sounds like you are fed up of it. Actually this is a good state to be in around the habit. Now you are really ready to quit. But quitting is a different ball game altogether. Your persistence will eventually pay off...more

You started smoking recently and decided to quit, that is commendable. Congratulations.
Set a date when you will absolutely stop smoking. Start gradually decreasing the number of cigarettes per day. Donot buy packs of cigarettes. Buy only one cigarette at a time and walk ten minutes to a shop before you buy the next one. You can consult a psychiatrist for medications to reduce craving. Good luck!

Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chew gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive ...more
