You can stop medicines after 6 months of dosage. Medicines alone will not help you lose weight. You have to exercise and eat well to lose weight even after stopping the medicines. Cut down the excess carbs. If you want to lose weight you should start by avoiding sugar and starch (like bread). A low carb diet reduces your hunger and makes it easier to eat less. And it might even increase your fat burning at rest. Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals will not make you lose weight faster. That strategy backfires because your body thinks food is in short supply, so it slows your metabolism in order to conserve energy. Over time, the result is that when you do eat — even if you consume the same foods as always — your body will be slower to use the calories as fuel, thus creating a backlog of unwanted pounds.  Stay hydrated. You've heard it before, and you'll hear it again. That's because drinking 64 ounces of water daily is one of the easiest ways to speed up weight loss. Your body needs water in order to efficiently metabolize stored fat. When you shortchange your supply, you're likely to slow down that process, meaning it's more difficult for you to burn calories. An easy eight glasses a day (at least!) will keep your system running smoothly. Start exercising. Strength training builds lean muscle tissue, which burns more calories — at work or at rest — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The more lean muscle you have, the faster you'll slim down. How do you start strength training? Try some push-ups or a few squats or lunges. Use your free weights to perform simple biceps curls or triceps pulls right in your home or office. Do these exercises three to four times per week, and you'll soon see a rapid improvement in your physique. Go for an evening walk. An evening activity may be particularly beneficial because many people's metabolism slows down toward the end of the day. Thirty minutes of aerobic activity before dinner increases your metabolic rate and may keep it elevated for another two or three hours, even after you've stopped moving. What that means for you: Those dinner calories have less of a chance to take up permanent residence on your hips. Take adequate rest. You should also make an effort to get enough good sleep, preferably every night. Strive to wake up refreshed of your own accord, independently of the alarm clock. If you’re the kind of person who always gets brutally woken up by the alarm ringing, you might never be giving your body adequate rest. Supplement vitamins and minerals. Nutrient-dense, good food is certainly the foundation of weight loss. But an adequate amount of vitamin D can be difficult to ingest via food. In the case of a lack of sun (such as during the darker months of autumn and winter), it’s wise to supplement for multiple health reasons – and perhaps even for your weight.

Hello, thanks for the query. The glucose levels mentioned look very good, showing a well controlled diabetes. Since there is no information hba1c%, dietary pattern & extent of daily exercise etc, no further comments can be made. As regards "pain abdomen: following taking olmesatran, it is difficult to know the reason. You ask your physician to change the treatment to some other anti-hypertensive drug. Thanks.

My hb1ac is 6.5 after I test from starting workout after one hour post meal for two times lunch and dinner. After that workout routine I test after 10 days this then I got this hb1ac. Before it was 6.9.now my issue is i'm taking metformin 1000 mg per 500 mg two times. But from last two days even after workout and taking medicine my post meal sugar is high yesterday was 186 lunch post meal then 165 night post meal. Today it's 217 one hour post meal and 173 two hours post meal. I don't know why it's increasing kindly advise to better control. After food workout mostly help me lower my post meal but from last two days it's not helping. Even I have frequent urination issue from years. Help.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. From the information it is clear that with a bmi of almost 28 kg/sq meter (normal < 23 kg/sq meter) you are very close to be in grade 1 obesity. Your ideal body weight should be about 56 kg, which means there is an excess of over 9 kg. This needs to be brought down for better glucose control. It is usually better to exercise after a gap about 2 hour post meal or about 30 minutes to 1 hour following a light snack. Post meal exercise does help in burning glucose and reducing the levels. However, if the levels have not been going down as earlier, then one needs to look at 1) the dietary intake, particularly amount of carbs 2) the medication that is being taken. Excess intake and inadequate medication can cause or lead to increased glucose levels. In the query there is no mention of your age, which is an important information. You may have to upgrade the current therapy. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have sen the details mentioned. The very fact that you glucose shows 244 mg & 279 mg (in different glucometers), is the sign of uncontrolled diabetes. Checking in different machines with a gap can show up variations in levels. But what is significant is that random glucose levels are high. This suggests your current treatment is not adequate. There is no mention of what medications you are on, the dosage of various drugs, fbg, pp glucose & hba1c%, your dietary pattern, weight, height, extent of daily exercise, lipid profile and bp readings. Without having those important details it is difficult to comment any further or suggest anything specific. So you may have to come back with all the above information preferably in a private conversation then I will be able to give specific advice and even prescribe any medication that may be required. If not please contact your physician and get necessary changes done. At your age ideally fbg should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. Kindly have an orange with black salt with lunch and dinner to digest your meals well, and increase your appetite. 1)weight is a sum total of bone, water, muscle and fat. You need to gain muscle to get healthy.
