I only hope he has been shown to a good consultant and diagnosis has been confirmed. Treatment has to be given under direct supervision of a physician. Extra medical care is required in view of presence of joint pains even after 2 weeks, advanced age and Type I diabetes. Frequent blood sugar tests and good control of glucose level by proper Insulin dosage should be a priority. Bed rest and regular nutritious food are necessary.
