Our spinal disc resembles a jelly donut, wherein the softer insides are protected by the hard exterior. Sometimes, as a result of some injury or an accident, the jelly slips out, leading to an extremely painful condition which in medical parlance is known as herniated disc. You need to have pain killers and hot back treatment when you have pain. Take plenty of rest. But after the pain goes away, you need to walk for 30 mins at least and do lower back physiotherapy exercises every day twice to avoid taking pain killers.

Hi. I would advice you to take rest for 10 days. Then keep some hot water bag for 15-20 mins 3 times a day. Start doing core activation exercise along with physio. Don't take traction sometimes it may aggravate pain.

As per your scan, there is wear and tear of your spine. There is no nerve compression seen. This is most likely to cause you a lot of backpain, which is what you are having. You will need to have this treated with regular painkillers. Unfortunately, you will need to continue painkillers for a long time. You will also need to have proper physiotherapy for strengthening you back along with the painkillers.
