Fierst and foremost thing is diet control. Avoid sweets, sugar, jagary, honey and seet fruits like banana, mangoe, grapes, cheeku etc. Take your meals at regular intervals. Regular exercise, walking, yoga are also helpful and practice them. If not controlled on these your doctor will prescribe medicines also under guidance of your blood sugar levels.

Abhraka Bhasma (Sataputa: Useful in diabetes and excessive urination. This can be used in several diseases with different adjuncts.
DOSAGE: 1g = 4 doses. For excessive heat and dry cough, add equal quantity of sithopaladichurna and use one dose both morning and evening with sugar.
But personally I feel allopathy mesicines are best for treating diabates.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The glucose and HbA1c% values are normal. There is no need for any treatment. Only precautions are do regular exercise, take a balanced and restricted diet, avoid sweets (too much), junk foods, pastries, bakery items and foods made from maida and maintain your weight. That is enough. Thanks.

So. I should have to tell you that you r really in a strict diabetes control. We say diabetes if hba1c is more than 6.5. Hba1c reflects the status of diabetes for last 3 months. You are in good control. If you wanna reduce the level further then restrict your food habit. Avoid sweets. Cold drinks. And include exercises. Morning walk in your daily routine. And take proper dose anti diabetic drug.

You will have to take antidiabetic medications lifelong.
It needs continous monitoring and most importantly you need to follow diabetic diet and exercise daily for at least 30 minutes. Its not mandatory that you will require insulin.

Mr Gopinathan, HbA1c% of 6.1 is a prediabetic condition. You need to be careful. To prevent diabetes exercise regularly, avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Avoid smoking and alcohol. Take a restricted diet giving calories based on ideal body weight and level of exercise. This should help.
