Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
Since you are already on metformin and have hba1c% 6.5%, means there is diabetes. As you have not provided any other information like weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, serum creatinine & urea, as well as lipid profile, there is no way to say anything further. Please come back with all the necessary details, then only I will be able to give any specific advice. Thanks.

Hba1c of 7.5 percent means that you are already diabetic. You will need to be started on medicines and you should continue with your diet. Vitamib b12 deficiency does not cause diabetes.

In general: a blood sugar level less than 140 mg/dl (7.8 mmol/l) is considered normal. A blood sugar level from 140 to 199 mg/dl (7.8 to 11.0 mmol/l) is considered prediabetes. This is sometimes referred to as impaired glucose tolerance.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

You are obese, first you are advised for lifestyle modifications like proper diabetic diet, regular physical activity like aerobic and resistant exercises, avoid any form of sugary foods, good sleep atleast 7 hours at night may improve. After one month you check your blood sugars both f/pp then get your opinion. All the best.
