There are no hard and fast rules. It all depends on the intensity of thirst. Drink a glass of water whenever you feel thirsty. You can drink sips of water when eating food to help you swallow the food. You can drink a glass of water an hour before and after any meal. On an average you can drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday.

Hi. Our body has unique mechanism of homeostasis. We feel thirsty when body needs water. We feel hungry when body needs food. Also once the need of food or water is fulfilled we feel satiety. So go with internal instinct. And don't worry about what much amount of water you drinks. Nature takes motherly care to keep ourself healthy.

This is because you have dry mouth and do not have mucus layer which is protective layer and gives you immunity so that bacteria does not penetrate, this can be recreated by iron rich diet, as cold drinks produces dryness in mouth due to co2 hence avoid it, avoid spicy and salty food also.
