there are some factors which delays the healing of wound that you have not mentioned. Like,
-infection can make a wound larger and take longer to heal.
-diabetes.
-poor blood flow due to clogged arteries (arteriosclerosis) or conditions such as varicose veins.

The conservative management would be to keep ice in that inflamed area. Apply ice for the pain to get subsided immediately. You can redo the bandage again so that the healing would be more quicker. You can add protein in the diet which will help you to have quicker healing.

From the description it appears to be a paronychia infection, which affects part around the nail. It is a very painful condition. If it has become yellow, means there is pus collection.
